Digital Signage (inside HFC buildings)

The division of Marketing and Communications manages the digital signage (large TV monitors) inside the HFC buildings on both campuses. You may request a digital display for major (College-wide) events and activities.

How to request a digital sign

  1. Read all the guidelines below.
  2. Email communications@hfcc.edu with your request.

Signage information and guidelines

  • All digital sign graphics are designed, posted, and managed by Marketing and Communications.
  • Requests for digital sign notices must be sent to us a minimum of 5 business days before you want us to start posting your event information.
  • Requesting a notice on the campus digital signs does not guarantee that we will be able to accommodate your request.
  • All requests for content and design on all digital signs will be managed at the discretion of Marketing and Communications. We will base our work on information you provide and will use our discretion for any design and content.
  • If your request is part of an event series, rather than an standalone event, please aggregate your event information on a single webpage or news story, so that we will have a single location to point to for a QR code.
  • All timelines and durations for digital signs will be determined by Marketing and Communications. We will work to accommodate reasonable requests for timelines, but we will not retain persistent content for long periods, nor will we provide excessive lead time for upcoming events. Generally, you can expect that (5 or more days after you make a request with full information), we will post your board up to 2 weeks prior to an event. General information boards that notify community members of ongoing services will be posted periodically for a duration of up to 1 or 2 weeks, depending on time-sensitive content priorities.

Marketing and Communications decisions about digital signage will be based on the following criteria:

  1. Requests must be for public activities or events that affect the entire College community. Content that is focused only on student services and events is also acceptable, and we will make informed consideration of sequencing and duration.
  2. All activities or events must be officially sponsored by the College or a College department or an officially recognized HFC student organization that has an active faculty advisor.
  3. All designs will be created by our Graphics Team based on information you provide. QR codes for calls to action will be created to point to an updated webpage or web news story.
  4. Digital signage will not be produced for events advocating political themes; religious themes; themes that denigrate, degrade, or insult individuals or groups; themes of a controversial nature such as explicit sexuality or vulgarity; or any commercial activity. We do not accept paid advertising on the digital signs.

Reporting issues and outages

If a campus digital board is malfunctioning, please report the specifics (location, any error messages) to Donovan Shaffer or Raed Abukhader in ITS.

NOTE: the large digital sign outdoors in the quad area of the main HFC campus is managed by Student Activites. Contact Cassandra Fluker for information about notices on that sign.
